History

More than 60 years growing together with our growers, customers and employees.

At a time when Tucumán's economy revolved almost exclusively around the sugar industry, a group of pioneering descendants of immigrants joined forces to produce lemons and their derivatives, giving rise to one of Argentina's leading citrus cooperatives.

Our Beginnings

In 1961 the Citrus Growers Cooperative of Tafí Viejo, Agricultural, Processing and Commercialization Ltd., better known as COTA, was founded.

The cooperative began by acquiring just eight hectares where its first nursery was established, driven by an innovative concept for its time: cooperation.

Those cooperative values remain the cornerstone of our organization today.
